Scout AI, founded in 2024 by Colby Adcock and Collin Otis, raised a $100M Series A led by Align Ventures and Draper Associates, following a $15M seed round in January 2025. The company is building an AI model called 'Fury' trained on military bases to operate and command military assets — starting with logistics and progressing to autonomous weapons. CTO Collin Otis describes the approach as fine-tuning existing LLMs into what he calls 'military AGI.' TechCrunch was given exclusive access to their training operations at an undisclosed U.S. military base in central California.
Scout is essentially doing domain-specific fine-tuning of LLMs for high-stakes physical-world command tasks — robotics, real-time decision-making, adversarial environments.
