Linear launched an AI agent that synthesizes context, makes recommendations, and takes direct action inside Linear projects.
Linear released 'Linear Agent,' an AI layer built natively into its project management platform. The agent can synthesize project context, surface recommendations, and take autonomous actions — such as creating or updating issues, triaging work, and moving tasks. This is a native integration, not a plugin, meaning it operates with full access to Linear's data model. Availability appears to be rolling out to existing Linear users.
Linear Agent can auto-create, update, and triage issues based on project context, which means less time writing tickets and more time shipping. If your team runs on Linear, this directly reduces the overhead of converting Slack threads and PR comments into structured work items. The key question is how much control the agent has versus how much it prompts for approval — that determines whether it's a productivity multiplier or a noisy suggestion engine.
If your team uses Linear, trigger Linear Agent on your current sprint's open issues and ask it to surface blockers and recommend priority changes — then compare its output against what your team flagged in standup.
Open Linear and navigate to your active project or current cycle
